I just closed on my home yesterday 9/30/10 but I did not enter into my contract until August '10 so of course I missed out on the tax credit, which sort of bummed me out! But in the end like you said I was able to get more house b/c my interest rate is 4.375% vs. the people I know who did earn the credit but ended up w/ 6% rate. So yes I feel like in the end I have more house & less of a payment!!!!! A GREAT house I might add!!!! Thanks Matt!
